I purchased this product, this time, to send as a gift with friends visiting from Chile to take home to their children to experience the snow they got to play in during their visit. When I demonstated how it works, all the adults had a blast playing with it too. We are not sure at ths point if the kids will get it when they get home or the adults will keep it. :)

We discovered this product and decided to try it with our 4-5 year olds. We did not bother mixing it in front of them because we wanted to make it seem real. We mixed it after school and then put it in a plastic bag and stuck it in the freezer for the night. It froze into a pretty big ball the first time, so a parent broke it apart next morning. Some snowballs remained and it was possible to squish snow into a snow ball.
The next day we took it out and placed it in a deep water table -

The snow remains really cold all day. Obviously we had the water table where it could be monitored by an adult.
We refroze it at the end of the day. Kids love it and have played with it for 2 weeks.
An authentic experience for kids that have never been to the snow.

We were able just to use all the powder once. Now the moisture is still in it, so we have to wait over a week for it to dry out again.

Using cold water to make this makes it feel cold just like snow! It lasts all week, and it takes just a little bit to make a lot! If you dry it out just right, you can reuse it!

Yes, children absolutely love this! Because it holds moisture it feels cold to them like real snow (and if you freeze it then even more so). One note: because the product continues to absorb more and more water it is hard to clean up with a wet sponge. Instead, wait until the product totally dries up and then sweep it up (this is usually the next day).

Our director was introduced to this product at a ECE conference and immediately ordered it upon her return. It's a great addition to our sensory table in the preschool classes. Extra fun when it's cooled in the freezer first.
