Great aids to nutrition inst. for preschool
By Westiecat

Good quality, washable colorful vinyl foods that are realistic and versatile. The pyramid chart, when laminated by the user, is a durable, colorful and functional teaching aid. It would have been nice if the cards labelled "Grains","Fruits and Vegetables" etc., had been color coded to match the corresponding food group on the pyramid. I remedied this by coloring in the card with colored pencil before laminating.

We had ...

We had disgusting/old/dirty play food that I thew away at the beginning of the school year (daycare) not knowing that man, these can really add up. Who knew pretend food could be so expensive? I looked around everywhere to see where I could get the best buy and this seems to be it.This is perfect if you have a kitchen set, the kids love the variety of foods and the new food chart is perfect to have above your kitchen.I've learned it's best to have just enough stuff in the kitchen but it's a nightmare if you buy too much (the kids get too rowdy and you'll have food everywhere) so I don't think it's worth buying those sets that have like 600 pieces but also don't have too few because they will get bored.I am lucky that our nutrition teacher donated another bag of food pieces so I add a new piece every now and then. I think there are enough pieces in this set so you could do that with what you get in here. Just take a few pieces away for a while and then secretly put it back in... the kids love to find "what's new" or "what's back".
