When they arrived they were packaged nicely - so I don't think that the damage to the boxes was caused during shipping. Many of the boxes have dings in the wood, some of them the screws on the hinges were done crooked, or not completed - had to take them out and redo them myself. also, parts of the wood were thinner in places, like it had been made out of scrap wood. They are very rough, in order to paint them successfully I had to sand them and treat them with a wood prep for painting. A few of the lids close great, but mostly they are uneven and don't close all the way. I hate to complain about a product because the service I got from the site itself was excellent and I will definitely shop here in the future. I just wasn't impressed with this particular product.
