 | On July 1, 1985, Discount School Supply (DSS) founder, Ron Elliott, opened the doors of his very small business in
San Jose, CA. From
the beginning, offering educational toys and classroom items, Ron wanted to specialize in arts and crafts supplies at the lowest prices supported by an extraordinary
level of service.
Most importantly, he wanted to serve teachers. |
| Ron produced the first 16-page DSS catalog on his own computer. 25 years later, the Discount School
Supply catalog has
grown to over 500 pages with several specialty catalogs. From that small facility in San Jose, DSS now has warehouses in 4 locations nationwide. The extraordinary
level of service continues. 97% of our customers receive their orders in just 2 business days. |

Our eco-friendly program began 25 years ago when DSS began to re-use the boxes sent to us by vendors. Since 1990, we’ve used
biodegradable and
recyclable packing material. We have a growing list of eco-friendly products and allergen-free items. Our Quality Assurance program ensures our focus on the safety of
the products we sell.
