Caring for Your Outdoor Wood Furniture

Regular care helps preserve the wood’s appearance and extend the life of your furniture
- WHAT YOU GET: A White Cedar table and bench set for indoor or outdoor use.
- SHARED SEATING: Benches accommodate teachers as well as children, encouraging conversation and participation.
- VERSATILE ACTIVITY SPACE: Use for drawing, creative projects, mud play, meals, and group activities.

Caring for Your Outdoor Wood Furniture
Keep your outdoor wood furniture looking its best with regular cleaning and protection from the elements.
- Clean gently: Wipe with a soft cloth and mild soap and water. Remove soap residue and wipe dry.
- Cover when not in use: Use a weather-resistant furniture cover to help protect against rain, dirt, and prolonged sun exposure. Place furniture in a shaded area when possible to reduce exposure to extreme heat and UV rays, which can fade and wear the finish. Allow furniture to dry before covering.
- Store seasonally: During extended periods of wet or freezing weather, store furniture in a cool, dry, sheltered location.
- Oil and maintain the wood: Periodically apply an oil formulated for outdoor wood furniture, such as an exterior-use tung oil or linseed oil blend, to help prevent drying and maintain the wood’s appearance. Choose a product compatible with the existing finish and follow all application and curing instructions before returning the furniture to use.
