Create Smoke-filled Bouncing Bubbles
Perfect For Halloween or Just Fun!
Steve Spangler created Boo Bubbles as an easy and safe way for parents and teachers to explore the science of dry ice with fog-filled bubbles. This science kit for kids is simple to use. Just fill the bubble generator with warm water and a few pieces of dry ice, then dip the bubble blower in the solution and get ready to make the most ghostly and exciting bubbles you’ve ever seen. When the dry ice reacts with the water, smoke-filled bubbles are forced out of the bubble generator. By controlling the flow of the gas, it’s easy to make any size bubble. Best of all, when the bubble pops, a burst of fog is released, and kids scream with delight: “Do it again!” These Steve Spangler Boo Bubbles can be incorporated into STEM learning activities to help children and students learn about the science of sublimation in a fun, hands-on approach. Kids will marvel when they see dry ice transform from a solid directly into a gas.
What if you don’t want the bubbles to pop?
If you’ve ever bounced a bubble, you know that it all comes down to using the right pair of gloves. The oil on your hands keeps you from being able to hold onto or even squeeze a bubble without it popping. With the included bubble gloves, you’ll become a master bubble-ologist in absolutely no time.
What does it teach?
With this DIY science kit, kids will also be empowered to study the rate of reaction as they experiment with different water temperatures and learn about the factors that turn ordinary bubbles into super bouncing bubbles.
Foggy Bubbles You Can Hold
Roll them in your hands, bounce them off your sleeve, and pop them to release a burst of fog. How many can you hold?
Giant Boo Bubbles
Cover a clean table surface with a thin layer of soap bubble solution and spread it around. Hold the nozzle down and your bubble will just get bigger and bigger.
Floating Ghost Bubbles
Have your adult helper place dry ice into a container of warm water. What do you think will happen when Boo Bubbles drop into the foggy container? Will they float?
