Hours of fascinating fun!
We first encountered these at a local children's museaum and couldn't get our 4-year-old and 9-year-old away to see other exhibits! (I admit, I spent a long time playing with them, too!) They are so much fun, although a bit pricey, as you will find that one set simply won't be enough - you'll want ...to build bigger and better structures and will need multiple sets. My girls build all sorts of buildings, furniture for Barbie dolls, stables for toy ponies, vehicles, etc. Every friend who has visited and played with them has asked for their own set and the parents all want to know where to buy them.

This is a great product that I have used in several different Head Start classrooms. It is always a big hit that has some staying power for holding attention. It is easy for differing abilities to use and the children learn from each other how to build with them. I am only disappointed that one se...t is not enough to really build much- you only get two square pieces and to build anything really interesting you need about six squares. It is pretty pricy for what you get. I will have to wait to put it out till I can order an other set because one set will just cause frustration and arguing.

I was knew this product was out there from my years of teaching, but I had limited experience with it. Having it at home now I have been surprised by the building possibilities. Our daughters began using these at 3 and 6 and both equally enjoy it. The patterns provided on the box are fun to follow, but certainly the blocks lend themselves to many home grown ideas. Between the clear colors and power of the magnets the effect is almost magical as you make structures come together. Great home and school product.

I first saw Magna-Tiles at my Grandaughter's Pre-school. Both of my Grandchildren love making and building things. The teacher gave me the info, I ordered 2 sets of Magna-Tiles one for each G-child and gave to them as a gift. They absolutely love playing with them.

As a grandparent, I am always looking for creative toys that my grandchildren can play with at my house when they come to visit. I'm a teacher, and I watch my students play with Magna Tiles daily, so I knew that this was a toy that would be loved by my grandchildren for many years. It's an excellent toy for fine motor, creative play, pretending, and building! I just wish the sets were a little more cost affordable, that's why I listed "pricey" as a con. Poor value? That depends on how one looks at the cost versus the overall life of the toy, because the tiles are very sturdy and will last many years.

I had heard about this product at my daughters daycare...they said that this product was the most played with toy by all of the kids. Everyday when I picked up my daughter (3 yrs. old) she would be playing with them so I decided to buy a set for our house. She plays with them everyday and my other daughter who is 7 years old also loves playing with them. I plan on buying at least 1 more set. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone and everyone:)

All the children in my childcare just LOVE these. Even adults can't seem to stop playing with them. Children as young as 22 months can make a cube and then they expand from there to a garage and then tall buildings. Yes it would be nice if they cost less but they are worth the cost as an open ended toy.

Magna tiles are great! My son was introduced to this item when he visited an older classroom in his daycare. From that point on I would have to try to think of creative ways to get him to come home because he wanted to stay and play with the magna tiles. He just received his own set as a birthday present and so far they have provided him with hours of imaginative play.
