Foam Paint Fall Resist Art
An Activity for Preschoolers:
Make these fun leaves and explore the sensation of painting with foam paint.

Before You Begin:
Gather foam paint, cardstock, a tray foam paint, a scraper and tape.

Activity Goals:
Teach the concept of resist painting
Exercise creativity

This activity can easily be done with other shapes.

Draw a leaf on a piece of cardstock paper, making it as large as you can.
Explain what the midrib and veins are. Hold up a leaf as you explain.
Use 1/2” wide masking tape to show the midrib and the veins.
Squeeze red, green, yellow and orange foam pain on a tray, as shown in the photo.
Run a paintbrush through the paints. This will create a marbling effect.
Press the leaf onto the foam paint.
Remove and scrape off excess paint.
When dry, remove the tape. What a lovely leaf!
