Can You Count and Match the Numeral?
An Activity for Preschoolers:
A quick counting activity that can be repeated daily!

Before You Begin:
Gather a set of counting items (such as counting bears), a permanent marker and a large zip close bag. Using the permanent marker, write the numeral on the bag that you wish the children to count to. For example, write 5 if you are working on the number 5.

You may do one bag per day to challenge children with the number for the day or create several bags.

Activity Goals:
To practice counting and one-to-one correspondence.

For a number-a-day style activity, you may try mixing up the counters each day by using counters in different sizes or colors.

Place the counters on a tray or table, along with the numbered zip close bag.
Have children count out the number of counters needed to match the numeral written on the bag.
Have children place the items in the bag while counting them with the teacher.
