Perfect for the job!
This is the second year I purchased a class set of these envelopes. They are perfect for students to carry homework, newsletters, and graded work to and from home each day. The large size allows for papers, a reading book, and a notebook to be kept together. The only flaw is the sides sometimes spli...t. Easy to fix with a little packing tape. These last the entire year and the kids from last year showed me they were using them again this year in their fifth grade work!Parents like the packets too because it is easy to carry, prevents damage to books/classwork, and lives in their child's backpack. Great way to send letters back and forth. My students and I taped a multiplication chart to the outside and now it is a fast reference for quizzing each other on the bus or in the car! It is also handy during reading groups for keeping book set lessons together. Students can keep their group writing in the clear folder labeled with their group name. Handy and easy to store!Great product that I plan to purchase eac

still one bug to work out
I send these home three nights a week with small readers inside. They usually last about 3 months before the velcro doesn't close anymore then I have to replace the velcro strips. I wish you would carry the same plastic envelopes with the two button and string enclosures they last a little longer.... Overall it's a good product to protect my books. The students love the envelopes.

Homework Folders
I use these for the kids' books and things. It has worked great for me. So much better than replacing ziplock bags all year. They hold up well.
My Favorite Folders
I love, love, LOVE these envelopes. I buy them each year and send them home every Monday filled with graded work. I sandwich spelling tests, process writing, and social studies quizes, for example, with my weekly parent communication note and a signature sheet. Parents sign their sheet and send the empty folder back on Tuesday. I encourage families to post the note on the fridge to remind them of upcoming tests and long term projects and for spelling list review. Some of my sloppiest students have been unable to destroy these envelopes. They last a whole school year and go home the last week in triumph, protecting the summer math workbook and reading packet. Thanks for continuing to make this useful and sturdy item. It is truly fourth grader-proof and I have no higher praise to bestow!

Good Take Home Folder
I use this envelope in first grade as a home to school communication vehicle. It stands up pretty well with the addition of some clear packing tape on the seams about mid-year. The transparency helps in that you can see if there's something important in there that needs your attention.

We use these folder as Friday folders to send papers home in. It is easy to load papers in them and they seal with the velcro closure. The size fits many sheets of paper with ease. Highly recommend.
